At K2 Himalayan Shilajit, purity is not a promise we make lightly — it is something we check, batch by batch, before our shilajit reaches you. This page explains why we test, what we test for, and how you can spot pure shilajit for yourself.
Why Lab Testing Matters
Shilajit is a natural substance formed over long periods in high mountain rock, and like any natural product, its quality can vary. Testing gives us an independent check on what is in each batch, so we can be confident that what we sell is genuine shilajit, free from fillers and unwanted additives. For you, testing brings peace of mind: you are not relying on appearance or claims alone, but on results from third-party laboratories. That is why we make lab testing a standard part of our sourcing and quality process, rather than an occasional extra.
What We Test For
Our third-party lab testing focuses on purity, fulvic acid content and the mineral profile of our shilajit. Fulvic acid is one of the key natural compounds in shilajit, and our shilajit also contains 85+ trace minerals. Testing helps confirm that the product is authentic shilajit and that it contains no fillers or additives. We do not add fillers, binders or artificial ingredients to our resin, capsules, powder or drops — what you receive is pure shilajit in the form you choose. If you would like to know more about the forms available, browse our Shop or explore our Pure Shilajit Resin, our most traditional form.
How to Spot Pure Shilajit
Lab testing is the most reliable check, but there are also simple signs you can look for at home. Genuine shilajit is dark in colour and dissolves in warm water, leaving no gritty residue when fully dissolved. It should come from a source that can explain where it was collected and how it was tested — vague origins and unusually low prices are worth questioning. Our guide, How to Spot Pure Shilajit, explains these checks in more detail and offers practical tips for comparing products. Remember that colour and solubility alone cannot replace lab testing; they are useful first checks, not a guarantee on their own.
